This is my first blog msg. I created this blog to tell all Indians about How we failed our nation during and after the attacks.
We have been building our Armed forces since our independence, Every year there is certain increase in defence spending. Nobody can question any rise in defence spending or call a debate the reason for increase. The main reason for this situation is our hostile immediate neighbours, our country has fought many wars of which some ended in either Victory(Bangladesh war)or partial victory(1948,1965,1999) or defeat(1962).
Anyways past is past we need to see future, we need to visualize our countries future in terms of military might and economic power. We have done better in both spheres compared to our neighbours except china. Our politicians, as well as citizens are basking under past glory of victory against Pakistan. We have pumped in billions of dollars in to R &D in defence such as nuclear and indigenous technology in the hope that we can mass produce this finished products en mass if hostilities broke out. Very recently We proudly unveiled Nuke Submarine saying that we have achieved Nuke triad and plans are afoot to build more. According to rough estimates to cost incurred is close to 30000 crores, all in the name of countries security.
Now come to reality, First wakeup call came during kargil conflict, even after spending trillions of dollars on defence, we were short on ammunition, we had to run to Israel for Ammunition. Pilots were initially unable to take on intruders it seems, they had to do target practice just prior to air strikes. When Pakistan was sending Mujaheddin and regulars to Kargil, why didn't India declare all out war. We have sacrificed development and poured money on defence to save India from invasion but what we did was just keep our army within our borders.
Again when Indian airlines flt was hijacked and made to land in Kabul, we were very sure Pak was involved, even then we put our army in silent mode. Same year we had increased defence expenditure by several notches by saying to public that we need money to modernise.
Last straw was the attack on the parliament, Indians finally came out the cave to give Pakis taste of Indian might and then what happened we again put our army inside our borders, we lost soldiers by mine explosions and accidental fire. Same year there was attack on Assembly building in J&K more than 40 people dead.
Finally they decided to aim Mumbai, we know what happened. Same rhetoric and war of words, we just had muted our response instead chose to ask uncle Sam to our rescue.
Pakistan has tried everything to attack India, we just kept quite as if we don't have an army to defend. So My question is if army cant retaliate for such attacks y we need an army in first place.
I have following steps to make or break India
1. We need to review all the indigenous projects going on , abandon projects which has failed and go in for big time purchase, if possible to second hand arms so as bolster our forces in numbers. If project is successful go in for mass production and stock pile missiles. We need to have enough capacity so that we can overwhelm Pakistan with ease. Invest more in surveillance along borders, plant moles in critical areas in Pakistan. We need have comprehensive data about pak missiles and related deployment, so that IAF can take them out as an preemptive measure.
2. If can't do the above said things, We need to scrap army, IAF, Navy. Auction weapons to African countries and invest the money on development. Raise Anti-terror squad which can crack any situation. Finally we need introduce referendum in all the states if they want stay with India or else they can become independent.This way we can wipe out terrorism and bring in prosperity
